I Might Get Lucky This Time

I got so curious when I've found a couple of friends have posted about this contest so I checked out the contest host on Ramblings of the Phat and found out that it was just an easy one. Aside from the fact that I like the bag with its adorable prints. Actually, I'm not so lucky when it comes to contests but again I'm crossing my fingers on this one. While I'm still alive, I will never lose hope and I will continue joining contests like this wherein no money is at stake. This contest is a game of chance since winners will be drawn using Random.org. So for the nth time, I'm saying this again, "I might get lucky this time".

Rules:
1) This contest is open to everyone, anywhere around the world.
2) This contest starts today, Friday, 1 May 2009 to Sunday, 31 May 2009.
3) Multiple posts are allowed on single or multiple blogs, as long as you leave the right post links. The more posts you write, the more chances you'll get to win!
4) The winner will be picked using random.org.
5) The winner will be announced on Monday, 1 June 2009 (Malaysian time, +8 GMT).
6) Please DO NOT COPY my post as part of your text, except for the rules. Otherwise, you will be disqualified.

Music Mondays X: I Kissed a Girl

During my college days, I have to live in a boarding house in Cebu City since our province is more than an hour away from it. But boarding houses are just way too noisy and chaotic since there are other boarders who doesn't have an inch of respect to other people. So on my sophomore, my sister and I looked for a house where extra rooms are for rent. That way, we have to live with a family wherein respect is highly visible. There was this particular house where we really enjoyed our stay since our landlady's sons and daughters are just about our age so friendship instantly hit. Sad to say since I've graduated from college I've never seen them again. It was just last week that I've discovered that one of them, her name is Daphne Jill, uploaded her videos on YouTube. My sister was the one who informed me about the videos and she asked me to search this on YouTube and this was what I found and she does have a lovely voice. Cheers!

Symptoms show Positive

If you remember, I have written a post about me being afraid I'm pregnant. Now I am definitely sure I am. I never took the pregnancy test I'm dreading to take but I am showing the following symptoms.

Delayed Menstruation - I've been delayed for almost a month already which had never happened before. This alone made me certain that I really am positive about my pregnancy.

Tiredness/Fatigue - I'm just soooooo restless and lazy these days.

Headache - I'm having it once in a while but I'm glad it's bearable.

Frequent Urination - Even before, I always have these frequent trips to the bathroom as I always feel the need to urinate. Recently, it got worse!

Breast Tenderness - It's almost a month now since I have swollen/tender breasts

Heartburn - This is what I don't like when I'm pregnant since it's one reason why I gain so much weight. Lately, I'm always eating although I don't crave for anything in particular.

There are other symptoms of pregnancy like morning sickness, luckily, I don't suffer from it. Perhaps I would not gain so much weight if I suffer morning sickness but, oh, that would be a terrible feeling. I'd better not ask for it.

See? How can I possibly think otherwise when the signs are waving right in front of my face? So there is really no need for me to take the pregnancy test. I am now certainly, absolutely, definitely sure I am pregnant. I have already accepted the fact and now I am happy and excited about it. ;)

Award, Award and Award!

Yes, I have received three awards and I feel like a grand slam winner but regrettably my acceptance/thank you speech is way too late. Forgive me. I just feel so restless these days. All I did was just dropping some ec's and reading posts without even bothering to write some comments. Period. I was not in the mood to write posts or even just to write comments. Even office work documents are filed high one on top of the other making my desk a complete mess. Anyways, I think I'm quite ok now, so let me start by thanking the award-giving bodies for the thoughtful act. They are Bluedreamer, Twinks, Maria and Mariuca. Thanks you so much from the bottom of my bottomless heart for the following awards. I really appreciate it ;)

Music Mondays IX: Don't Give Up On US

Lately, I'm not happy with my work anymore. I just feel like giving up. For days, I've been thinking of resigning and putting up a small business but my sister advised me not to. She said I will go stagnant if I stay at home and I have to agree with her. She definitely has a point. She also made me think "What will I do at home with my kids at school and no internet access?". What a boring life would that be! I would end up cleaning the floor, the windows and the entire house again and again until it would literally shine. LOL! So here I am, still at the office and contemplating on not giving up.

Don't Give Up On Us

David Soul

Don't give up on us, baby
Don't make the wrong seem right
The future isn't just one night
It's written in the moonlight
Painted on the stars
We can't change ours

Don't give up on us, baby
We're still worth one more try
I know we put a last one by
Just for a rainy evening
When maybe stars are few
Don't give up on us, I know
We can still come through

I really lost my head last night
You've got a right to start believin'
There's still a little love left, even so

Don't give up on us, baby
Lord knows we've come this far
Can't we stay the way we are?
The angel and the dreamer
Who sometimes plays a fool
Don't give up on us, I know
We can still come through

It's written in the moonlight
Painted on the stars
We can't change ours

Don't give up on us, baby
We're still worth one more try
I know we put a last one by
Just for a rainy evening
When maybe stars are few
Don't give up on us, I know
We can still come through

Don't give up on us, baby
Don't give up on us, baby

A New Blog?

Hola! I’m almost six months into blogging and for the past few days, I've been seriously thinking of creating a new blog. I’m choosing between blogging about my profession and blogging about household/parenting. But I still have yet to assess myself if I can manage two blogs since we all know that blogging would surely take a lot of time and dedication. I am not sure if I can do that with no internet access at home aside from the fact that I am also busy at work. What I’m surely certain though is that I enjoy blogging and I love the very sweet friends I’ve met in the blogosphere. I may not be an excellent blogger but I know I have improved and I understand I have yet so many things to learn. Anyway, I was considering using Wordpress as a platform for the blog and I came upon a website that offers web hosting services for it. I kind of like it since they have software which is easy to install and it is ideal for beginners like me. They also provide top quality service even on a tight budget and dedicated server hosting. If you are looking for a web hosting service, this website is exactly what you are looking for. As for my new blog, well, it really needs serious thinking. ;)

The Mom Song

I'm just sharing here an email message sent by my sister on Mother's Day. I found it amusing but it is entirely true. Enjoy!

The moment the child is born the mother is also born.
She never existed before; the woman existed but the mother never.
A mother is something absolutely new.

The Mom Song

Get up now
Get up now
Get up out of bed
Wash your face
Brush your teeth
Comb your sleepy head
Here’s your clothes
And your shoes
Hear the words I said
Get up now
Get up and make your bed
Are you hot?
Are you cold?
Are you wearing that?
Where’s your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat
Don’t forget you got to feed the cat
Eat your breakfast
The experts tell us it’s the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today?
Don’t forget your piano lesson is this afternoon

So you must play
Don’t shovel
Chew slowly
But hurry
The bus is here
Be careful
Come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside
Don’t play rough
Would you just play fair?
Be polite
Make a friend
Don’t forget to share
Work it out
Wait your turn
Never take a dare
Get along
Don’t make me come down there
Clean your room
Fold your clothes
Put your stuff away
Make your bed
Do it now
Do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn?
Would you like some hay
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone
Get Off the phone
Don’t sit so close
Turn it down
No texting at the table
No more computer time tonight
Your iPod’s my iPod if you don’t listen up

Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you’re coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me
Makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You’ll appreciate my wisdom
Someday when you’re older and you’re grown
Can’t wait ’til you have a couple little children of your own
You’ll thank me for the counsel I gave you so willingly
But right now
I thank you NOT to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew
Would appreciate
Take a bite
Maybe two
Of the stuff you hate
Use your fork
Do not you burp
Or I’ll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an egg A, Get the door
Don’t get smart with me
Get a Grip
Get in here I’ll count to 3
Get a job
Get a life
Get a PhD
Get a dose of reality
I don’t care who started it
You’re grounded until your 36
Get your story straight
And tell the truth for once for heaven’s sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff
Would you jump too?

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said at least a thousand times before that
You’re too old to act this way
It must be your father’s DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straight when you walk
A place for everything
And everything must be in place
Stop crying or I’ll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth
Wash your face
Get your PJs on
Get in bed
Get a hug
Say a prayer with Mom
Don’t forget
I love you

**KISS**

And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom’s work never ends
You don’t need the reason why
Because
Because
Because
Because
I said so
I said so
I said so
I said so
I’m the Mom
The mom
The mom
The mom
The mom
Ta-da

Music Mondays VIII: Song For Mama

Happy Music Monday peeps and Happy Mother's Day to all loving mothers out there. I know my greeting is a little bit late as I have no internet access during weekends but at least I get to greet from the bottom heart. ;) Anyway, I dedicate this song to my mother and to all the mother's who are willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of their sons and daughters. To my mom, I Love You Very Much and and I know you know that. ;)

Song for Mama
Boyz II Men

You taught me everything
And everything youve given me
I always keep it inside
Youre the driving force in my life, yeah
There isnt anything
Or anyone I can be
And it just wouldnt feel right
If I didnt have you by my side
You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
Youll always be you always will be the girl
In my life for all times

Chorus:
Mama, mama you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Mama, mama youre the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin you is like food to my soul
Youre always down for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong
Yes you did
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on
There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you come to me
And say to me I can face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
Youll always be
You will always be the girl in my life

Pink Fridays VII: Havaianas High Look

Approximately 3 years ago, I was shopping for shoes online when I came upon this Havaianas high heeled clogs. I particularly liked it and I made my first ever online purchase in spite of the fact that I am allergic to rubber. I love to wear it even if at the end of the day my feet are full of blisters and rashes. I can still remember how my feet would swell from all the scratching. In the end, I can't endure the pain and the itchiness so I stopped wearing it. I gave it to my sister who until now enjoys wearing it. ;)

Where is Betty?

We have a pet dog, a German Shepherd named Betty. We got her name on a local TV series, Betty La Fea. She was not on a leash nor placed in the kennel so she was allowed to run free. Oftentimes, the guard would leave the gate open and Betty would wander outside but she would always come back. But alas, not this time. She was last seen at our neighbors front yard the other night. When she was called for breakfast yesterday, no Betty came running for her food. So I asked the guards to look for her. They have looked everywhere but still no Betty came into sight. Perhaps she got lost while wandering outside. But I’m afraid some bystanders killed her and cooked her for their “pulutan” as they like to eat dogs! Ugh, I hope not. That would definitely hurt as I’ve grown to love that dog. She is the sweetest of all the pets we have in spite of her size. I'm still wishing that someday she would come home and place her head on my lap.
