Although we live in the same country, it's not easy to visit her and my relatives since we live a thousand miles apart. Aside from the distance, money is also a big factor. That is why we seldom visit them. I'm just doubly glad me and my family got to visit her last summer or else my kids would never have met her. I'm glad my kids got to know her even in a very short period of time.
Me and my siblings used to spend our summer in her place during our childhood years. I remember her as the very caring and happy-go-lucky lola of mine. She may be small, with the height of less than 5 feet, but she has a very big heart. She loved my grandpa dearly that they were able to bear 12 children as fruits of their love, with my mother being the eldest. She faced life with a positive attitude in spite of the poverty surrounding her. She is always smiling even if there is no food on the table, making the situation light and happy. She seldom gets mad and how I love her expression when she does saying, "Pagka ispreader ba ninyo uy". I don't really know what she means by that but it always makes me smile every time she says it. Oh how I love my Lola Soping. I will surely miss her, her cute structure, her smiles, her expression and of course her loving nature.
May you rest in peace, La. I love you and I'll always will.
