Feeling Sickish

Aaachoo!  Oh, I'm sorry but I really am not feeling great right this very minute.  I have a terrible headache coupled with an irritating runny nose.  I cannot even bend to pick the box with a few dental business cards I dropped on the floor because I feel like my eyes, nose and brain are all going to fall. I used to think I am as healthy as a cow since I can't remember when was the last time I got sick.  But with what I am undergoing right now, I feel otherwise.

Although I don't like this awful feeling, I still am happy because I am looking forward to losing my appetite. Maybe just maybe I could shed off a few pounds. Anyway, I won't make this post long as I really need a rest.  Good Night!

MM: Touch My Hand

I got tired of singing my usual lullaby when I put Chezelle to sleep earlier while rocking her in the hammock, so I turned my cellphone's audio player on and played some not-so-lullaby music for her.  I don't know what specifically made her sleep but I just noticed she was already asleep with this song playing.  I think she too got tired of listening to my out of tune songs, hahaha. Happy Music Monday!

Friday Fill-Ins #11

So...here we go!

1. One of my strongest beliefs is there is always sunshine after the rain.

2. Believe me when I say my hips and my legs are huge!

3. The sky is cloudy with a threat of rain and wind and cold, so I snuggled into my cozy bed and waited for rain to lull me to sleep.

4. Hubby's loving embrace is comforting to me.

5. I always thought I'd be a freakin' billionaire by now.

6. I heard something eerie and then I went outside to look at the full moon.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to my first Executive Night (actually, I just got back from it), tomorrow my plans include driving to the city and attend a friend's Baptism and Sunday, I want to attend Charlton's school's Foundation day with the whole family!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Desperate Moves

I should be feeling great after a high school classmate told me awhile ago that he thinks I was one of the high school beauties during that time, but no. I suddenly felt bad on his next words. He asked me what happened and why I am now so FAT.   It was like a big slap on my face and my self-esteem. He may be rude for out rightly saying what he had in mind but it is the truth. And it hurts. Now, I am getting desperate to lose all these extra pounds the soonest possible time.

Out of desperation, I have thought of going under the knife. Would liposuction be effective for me? Maybe, but I don’t think I could afford all those expensive sessions. Another thought seems to be more effective and that is to lock myself up so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat. Allaboard.net provides the likes of Anaheim self storage units in several different sizes at a price that fits my budget. I could get one just perfect for my human size and lock myself up. That way, I could stay away from the ever tempting, irresistible food. For sure, after a week or so, I would end up one sexy woman if not dead. Smiley

Bead It!

Missed me? Blame my more- than-a-week-long absence to my “ever reliable” internet provider. My dissatisfaction with them just worsened yet I got no choice but to stick with them. Honesty, I don’t know when I got the connection back as I got tired turning Sonya on to check if there is a connection just to close it after a few minutes because there is none. Perhaps, I got the connection back a couple of days ago and now, I am mighty glad I am back to blogging.

Since most of my time is idle without the internet, I spent most of it cleaning Smiley and re-organizing my home. Just imagine how happy my house is without the internet. LOL. Anyway, while arranging my beaded accessories, I was thinking of what to do with them as I am no longer using them. Beaded curtain, perhaps?

Beaded curtains
were popular in the 60’s and 70’s and they are making a comeback now. They could be used to divide a room or cover an open closet or storage area on smaller rooms where doors could take up too much space. Having one in my own home would add just the right amount of splash, glamour and style. It would look especially good and would provide a dramatic entrance to my dining area or living room. I looked for designs over at Zappobz since they are the leading manufacturer of LED curtains and bead-related home decors since 1980. They have the most updated and stylish beaded curtains of highest quality that are super durable and are built to last. They could even customize it in various beads or colors or to whatever length you fancy.

I found a specific design I like, however, the beads I have are of various, shapes, colors and sizes that they would definitely turn into a crabby looking beaded curtain. Not to mention that the beads are not enough to make even a short window beaded curtain. Instead, I'll try sewing them into my slippers and turn them into trendy beaded slippers my cold feet can slip on. But not now. Perhaps on my next internet connection time-out.  Now, I have a lot of catching up to do in the blogging world.  See you on your blogs! Smiley

Good News, Bad News

I have both. Let's start with the bad news. I lost my hard earned Page Rank!

I got PR 3 just a few months after I started blogging and enjoyed it for almost two years. Just yesterday, when I checked on it, the result showed not a big fat zero but the depressing N/A. I am not pretty certain when Google updated the rankings, though. Perhaps, within last month.

The result is just so disheartening that I felt like crying. I don't know what and where I have gone wrong. Since last night, I have been racking my brain for the reason why it dropped so I can correct it but I just cannot find any. Thus, if you have any idea why my page rank dropped, do please leave me a message. I would greatly appreciate it.

Nevertheless, I slept and woke up with a heavy heart but when I checked my email early this morning, I was greeted with good news which somewhat erased the sadness I felt.   Not one but two messages stated that I won!

First was a message from Evan's mom of A Little Boy's Blog saying that I won an Adgitize gift certificate for one month.  Perfect timing since my ad would expire tomorrow. Second, was a message from Georyl saying that I won $5 on her ongoing contest, Georyl's Daily Giveaway which I recently joined. I rarely win on contest and giveaways so I was ecstatic with both messages and it did cheer me up.

As of this writing, I cannot specifically remember my most memorable experience as a blogger, so for me, these good and bad news would pass as one.

This is my official entry to Red's 1st Blogversary Contest!

Teachers Day and Birthday Greetings

Today, October 5 is World Teacher’s Day. Most of the time teachers are taken for granted. Let us remember that if not for the teachers, there would be no doctors, lawyers, engineers and other professionals. Most of the graduates leave their school without even thanking their teachers who are the key to their success. So today care to greet, text or leave a message on Facebook to all your teachers who passed and instilled their knowledge to you and don’t forget the two magic words “Thank You”. To all teachers out there, Happy World Teachers Day.

Well, if you don’t happen to know, I used to be a full time teacher until I resigned November last year. Just last June, the management asked me to return and teach even part time because my students asked me to. I conceded though my heart is not into it anymore because there is a little problem with the management but that is another story. Earlier, though, the students in our school gave tribute to all us, teachers and most of us went home, teary-eyed. We were so touched by the act, the gifts and the messages that they gave to us. Thanks for this day, it made us, teachers feel significant.

Moreover, today is my sister Raquel's birthday and I want all of you to know how I truly, deeply love her.

El, we may be miles apart, but always remember that I am just a text and call away.  I may not be able to offer my shoulders for  you but both my ears are always there for you.  I wish you good health, more birthdays, more loving years with your hubby and more babies.   I also wish you'd find a job that would suit you and your needs. hehehe.   Happy Birthday! I miss you and I love you!  Smiley

MM: If I Die Young

If I die young, bury me... oops! I don't want to die just yet nor do I want to think about it. My kids are still so small and I can't take to leave them at this very young age. I still want to see them grow and have a family of their own. So before I go babbling about my wishes before I die, listen and enjoy this music first. Happy Music Monday and have a fantastic week ahead! ;)

A Little Incident On The Highway

I finally decided to buy Champagne a study table yesterday and the sales clerk placed and tied it at the back of the pickup truck. On our way back the home, hubby and I heard a loud thud and when we looked back to check on the study table, it was nowhere in sight. The table toppled over and ended up on the pavement a few meters back. We went back to check on it and it seems that the tie gave way. The table did not shatter into pieces but the door was detached from its hinges. It is now displeasing to look at since some parts were already dented.

Fortunately, no vehicle was right behind us.  I cannot bear to think what would have happened if a car or worse, a motorcycle was following us. I was silent for the rest of the drive home since my mind was full of morbid thoughts of what could have happened if the table smashed right into a vehicle.  Thanks God no one was hurt.

Used Clothing For Less

Ukay-Ukay is a used clothing that you dig deep into a pile and although I don't really mind wearing one, I rarely go to the Ukay store because I just don't have that much patience to rummage into the pile.  However, my friend was able to convince me to do so last week during the Tuna Festival and I was not sorry since I had a few fabulous finds at less than a dollar.

Actually, Ukay stores are becoming a trend here since it is where you can find signature clothes, bags, shoes, silk ties and other accessories at the lowest price.  It may sound icky wearing clothes previously worn by strangers but the process of boiling and using Lysol fights the cringe at the thought of wearing second hand clothes.  Also, there is always the thrill of looking for a great find at the cheapest and most affordable price.  What is more challenging is how much you can use your charm to ask the store owner for a discount, which by the way I didn't get. But I got lots of freebies. Charm to the max, eh? Hahaha.
